We understand that many doctors choosing to utilise our service will have done a reasonable amount of groundwork already in terms of looking at alternative career choices outside of the clinical medical field. There will, however, be a number of clients that have no idea as to the range of possibilities and options out there for those with a medical degree.
We therefore offer a tiered structure of services that range in both intensity and content. Irrespective of which option you choose, the first step will be a one-on-one discussion with one of our team, probing your reasons for making this transition, your knowledge base of business matters and your suitability for a career in the corporate environment.
This in-depth analysis will be approached in a stepwise fashion during which we will engage you fully in the learning process. For those seeking assistance finding work, it is important to note that it is not a requirement for you to take any of our suggested training / coaching / advisory services for which we charge a fee, However experience has shown us that very few doctors have ever been required to assess their skills and profile in such a detailed and robust manner.
Step 1 - Initial Contact & Appraisal (Background)
Upon initial contact with our team we will review your most recent CV and any cover letters or personal statements you have prepared. This process will allow us to make a quick estimate of where you are in terms of the transition towards business and in comparison with similar candidates at your stage of a clinical career. It will help us to rapidly identify significant gaps in your application 'profile' and guide us as to which service would be of most benefit to you.
We will ask a range of involved questions via a Personal Profile Questionnaire (PPQ)™ to assess the quality of your previous academic qualifications, leadership experience and analytical skills. This will start you on a transformational path where you will rapidly start to realise how to best present your medical background and experience to a corporate recruiter. For some this will be a relatively simple process, whereas others will find this challenging yet rewarding and an opportunity for self-reflection.
We will also ask you to do the GMATPrep® test preparation software in order to evaluate your quantitative and qualitative skill set. Although not usually part of the corporate recruitment process, the practice GMAT test is an excellent way to assess your potential for tackling business problems in a structured and logical manner. It will also be an opportunity for those more suited for business school studies to evaluate their potential for entry to a top tier MBA programme.
Step 2 - Evaluation Discussion (Planning)
Once you have sent us back your CV and completed PPQ we will contact you again with the name and details of your Head Consultant who will then contact you by telephone or e-mail to set up your evaluation discussion. This will involve some more detailed questions with regards to your background, achievements to date and projected career path you are hoping to follow outside of medicine.
Following this discussion we will be able to give you a realistic expectation of your chances for admission to a top tier firm in comparison to both doctors and other non-medical applicants. Given the personal and intensive nature of our service, we operate on a limited capacity and therefore are unable to take on all clients for our fee applied services.
However you should still have benefited from a stringent assessment of 'market potential' in terms of careers within the business world. We will not charge you for this time and we will happily offer strategic advice as to how best to tailor the gaps in your experience or CV in order to maximise your potential for the future, and keep your details on file at your request, to notify you should we believe a role fits your profile.
For those we feel could benefit from our additional advisory / coaching services we will conduct a further interview and advice you at this stage as to which areas of your profile we believe require attention along with any of our associated fees, and what is the likely time scale needed in order to leverage you into a strong position prior to submitting job applications.

Step 3 - Strategic Advice and Profile Development (Execution)
Once the background research and planning steps are complete, we will then move rapidly towards the execution of the strategy plan developed as a result of the second interview with your lead consultant. This will include, but not be limited to:
Depending on your profile and success with applications to date, it may be that you only require a limited amount of time spent on each of these particular profile areas. It is, however, our experience that most doctors require a complete overhaul of their CV and cover letter as well as a substantial period of interview practice prior to submitting an online or paper job application.
Given that many firms bar candidates from re-submitting applications if unsuccessful (sometimes for up to 18 - 24 months) it is crucial that you are in the best possible position when you submit a CV and cover letter to potential employers. Once we have worked with you to optimise both of these and given you the necessary time to practice for interviews, you will be in the best possible position with regards to the competition, and far more confident at dealing with difficult interview questions and business cases (for Management Consultancy interviews).
When we are confident that you are 100% ready to submit that first crucial application, we will harness the relationships we hold with selected firms and aim to recommend you directly as job candidates.
Once the execution phase for the first of your applications is complete, we will work with on any further applications you are preparing and apply the same structured approach to each unique job profile.
Following your first round of interviews we will offer you tailored advice and feedback as to how you might best prepare for the second round, targeting weak responses and ensuring that you do not make the same mistakes in the next set of interviews. As you move closer to the final stages of the recruiting process, we will continue to offer our support and advise you one-to-one until the first day of your new role.
