When making the move from medicine to business, the first thing that you will notice is the amazing array of potential projects that are available to you, even at the most junior levels. Within the world of Management Consultancy this may involve playing a part in the re-structuring of an entire health authority or large-scale healthcare provider. From an economic perspective, the starting corporate salary is likely to be double that of most junior doctors. After 5-6 years with top tier firms, you should expect to earn a sufficient salary such that remuneration ceases to be an issue and your career choice is based on what you wish to achieve rather than earn.
